Macarons are French almond petit fours filled with naturally flavoured butter cream or rich chocolate ganache. They are gluten free so are ideal treats for people who are gluten intolerant. Made with almond, they differ from macaroons which are made with coconut.

They are the latest food craze taking New Zealand by storm. Did you see the Masterchef NZ finale where the contestants made a macaron tower?

Macarons are tricky to get right, and even pastry chefs struggle from time to time, but using my culinary training and experience I’ve mastered macarons for you.
